Additional information
How do I know if my child or teenager needs therapy?
If they are struggling with emotions, behaviour, school, friendships, or family life, therapy can help them develop coping skills and build resilience. Signs to watch for include withdrawal, anxiety, mood swings, or difficulty concentrating.
What happens in the first session?
The first session is about getting to know your child and understanding their challenges. It’s a safe space where they can talk freely and where we explore how therapy can help. Parents/carers may also be involved, depending on the young person’s needs. The first session lasts for 75 minutes, with subsequent sessions being 50 minutes.
Will parents or carers be involved in the sessions?
Yes, where appropriate. Therapy is most effective when families are engaged in the process. We will discuss the best level of involvement during the first session.
How long does therapy take?
It depends on the individual. Some young people benefit from a few sessions, while others may need longer-term support. We will review progress regularly.
What issues do you help with?
We support young people with anxiety, depression, trauma, self-esteem, school stress, relationships, family changes, and more. Where appropriate we will engage with the wider network of support, including schools, to develop clear plans of action that will ensure a coordinated response to supporting your child.
Do you offer online sessions?
Yes, online therapy is available for young people who prefer it or cannot attend in person.
